Mentorship Program

Communications Mentorship Program

The Penn State College of Communications Internship with Color of Thought Creatives is a unique mentorship program aimed at providing valuable hands-on experience for students seeking a creative Digital Communications internship. Color of Thought Creatives, a company that has successfully guided and mentored over 13 students, ranging from freshmen to seniors at Penn State, offers a fully remote Digital Communications internship that sets itself apart from traditional internship programs.

How it works…

One of the key aspects that distinguish this program is its remote nature, with the exception of a final in-person wrap-up meeting coffee and “thank you” goodies included. The internship is structured around weekly working sessions conducted on Zoom, where interns have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from Juliandra about branding and content creation. This weekly training equips interns with the essential skills needed to thrive in an agency setting, allowing them to work on creating content for clients at their own pace and schedule. The second meeting is more personalized to the intern and work they are specifically working on with reviewing, changing, and updating.

Juliandra

The internship program is led by Juliandra, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role of Intern Coordinator at WPSU in the Sports Department. Having undergone a variety of internships herself, Juliandra understands the value of providing interns with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences rather than mundane or repetitive tasks. She is passionate about fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where interns can develop their skills and enhance their online brand presence.

At the heart of this mentorship program is Juliandra’s commitment to mentoring and empowering students. She believes in the importance of guiding interns towards creating a strong online brand and is dedicated to supporting their growth and development throughout the internship. Juliandra’s approach revolves around allowing interns the flexibility to work on their projects in a way that suits them best, whether it be working from the comfort of their own homes or while watching a movie.
